With everything disconnected from the left side of the card simply slide the entire Wifi card to left, removing it from its slot and set it aside. Locate the Bluetooth card on the right side of the computer. Use the same screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the card in place. Remove the single gold antenna connector. Apple iMac and Macbook's built-in wireless card is known to have limited coverage as it does not feature an external antenna for better signal reception, however we can easily boost the Wi-Fi signal strength and range of any Apple Mac computer using external USB wireless dongles with external antenna.

From this I deduce there may be something wrong the wireless card in my own Macbook pro. How do I check this out and what steps can I take to remedy the situation?
CallApple Care if you have it. Your 'deduction' would be a hardware issue and should be properly diagnosed by a repair tech. Otherwise, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.
TakeFULLadvantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as alast resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired.
